Do you have a question for us? We've made the process of finding answers much simpler with our Let's Talk! communication tool. We now have our own Let's Talk! page where you can submit questions directly, and it's easy to navigate! Let's Talk! can be found on our school's homepage at either the "contact us" tab at the top or the blue "Let's Talk" tab on the side of the page.

Freedom Reigns! Happy Independence Day!

The Power of Partnership is highlighted, once again, to help SFSD families get connected to affordable internet. The SF Area Community Foundation is investing $50,000 to enroll households in the Affordable Connectivity Program (AFP). SD Voices for Peace leads the effort.
Voices for Peace is working with SFSD schools to inform families of this program. An enrollment specialist will continue to meet families during school events like parent-teacher conferences, success nights, etc. Eligible families should enroll today! GetInternet.gov

We have another Workzone Awareness Billboard Contest winner! Caylee McCkay's design urging caution in construction zones will be on display on I-29 off the Madison/Colman exit. To make things even more special, this design comes from the same Sonia Sotomayor classroom as Annika Kimber's, who won her own billboard artwork display just one month ago! Congratulations to this classroom of talented 4th graders!

Registration for open camps has been EXTENDED until Friday, May 26. We are pleased to offer many fun educational experiences for students this summer to continue learning, growing, and practicing Spanish. You can view the list of camps and sign up here:

Sonia Sotomayor Families:
We will be celebrating the last day of school with a Field Day! Please remember to send students with tennis shoes and sun protection (students will need to apply their own sunscreen).

Sra. Landry is doing a Spanish book drive, “Libros para todos” to Honduras. We all know how important literacy is for the world, especially in a place that doesn't have the same access to beautiful books. With just one book, you would make a world of difference to more than one child.
Thank you SSE Families for all your support!!

Join us in celebrating Hispanic Culture from around the world with our Carnaval!

Augustana professor Dr. Pilar Cabrera Fonte brought her Spanish students to perform for our 1st grade students! The kids loved it!!

Your preteen is navigating their first summer without childcare. Older siblings are caring for younger siblings at home and meal preparation is a little too much responsibility. You’ve hired a teenage companion to take your kids to the parks, camps, and activities but this means funds are tight for food.
These are all real scenarios playing out in homes and apartments across Sioux Falls. That’s why the Sioux Falls School District is proud to, once again, offer free breakfasts and lunches to all children, ages 1-18 during June and July 2023.
Using meal counts from previous summers, the Office of Child Nutrition established a schedule for breakfast to be offered at eight schools on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Lunch will be served Mondays through Thursdays at six locations and Monday through Friday at two locations. The schedule will be emailed to SFSD families and will be posted on the District’s website: sf.k12.sd.us. No income eligibility paperwork is required..
